Editorial review

The title is pretty self-explanatory: the program allows you to download YouTube videos using a small tool integrated with your Chrome browser.

The application is seamlessly integrated with your browser and its compact size makes it a great utility to use. It saves your videos as MP4, MP3, or FLV files, which is a good news because these formats are supported by pretty much any player on various devices.

You don't actually see the program on your computer until you go to YouTube. Once you open a YouTube page, you'll see a couple of new buttons right next to the search box: Download Video and Convert to MP3. The first one probably doesn't need any explanations. As for the Convert to MP3 option, you may need it when you bump into a YouTube video that is not actually a video but an audio track with a static image on the background. In this case, you don't want to save the file as a bulky video and can easily convert it to a lightweight MP3 file. On the completion, you can share the file with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, or via email.

When you download a video from YouTube, you can choose from 2 video formats (MP4 and FLV) and choose a high quality or low quality version of both. Needless to say, low quality MP4 and FLV are much lighter.

The major disadvantage of the program is a limited choice of formats. Although MP4, MP3 and FLV are very popular ones, sometimes people want to have more options. However, the program's simplicity justifies this shortcoming.
