Editorial review

Free Video Cutter has three main functions: cutting videos, converting them and extracting audios. The tool works on Windows XP and newer versions of Windows OS but has only one interface language available - English.

Formats the cutter works with

It supports the most widely spread video formats, namely AVI, MOV, FLV, WMV, DivX MPEG-1, 2 and MPEG-4. It opens all the listed formats, cuts and converts them. But there are only 5 output video formats: MPEG-4, DivX, WMV, MOV and FLV. Program also supports MP3 audio format: it allows extracting audio from a video and saving it in the most popular audio format - MP3.

How to use free video cutter

To convert a video or a movie, launch the program, click Open Video, choose output format in the Output Format filed and press Save Video. If you are willing to crop a file, specify the part of a video that needs to be cut. Program features two bars: the top one - for setting start time, the bottom one - for setting end time. To kill two birds with one stone specify both: output format and start & end time. This way you can cut and convert a video at the same time.

What the program lacks

Unfortunately, there is no built-in media player and you can't actually view videos. The display window only shows video thumbnails. Free Video Cutter also lacks advanced options, it's a basic tool for users who don't cut or convert videos a lot.
