Editorial review

Many people still have huge CD libraries at home and don't want to give up on their collections. Taking boombox with you wherever you go is probably not the smartest decision, but you still can listen to all these audio files if convert them to a more habitual and usable format like MP3, OGG, FLAC, or WAV. Free CD Ripper does exactly that. It rips your old CDs and allows you to listen to the songs on your PC, MP3 player, or any other device that supports MP3, OGG, or WAV files.

Design is obviously not the strongest feature of this program, but you don't actually need it to be good looking to be satisfied with the results. The interface is simple and comprehensible even if you are not a very skillful user. All you need to do is insert your CD into the CD-ROM and launch the program. First off, you will be offered to choose from several European languages. After that, select the files that you want to burn. There are several configuration options, for example, you can choose the desired format, change the bitrate and channel, play with frequency and quality settings, etc. The program can search for the titles of the audio files if they are not titled correctly. Once that's done, just go ahead and let the program do the rest of the job for you. There is an in-built player that isn't very powerful but doesn't ruin the overall impression of the ripper.

Overall impression

Free CD Ripper is a simple but smart tool that will help you bring your old audio recordings back to life by converting them to one of the popular audio file formats. The program is recommended for anyone who don't want to pay money and want their file converted in a flash.
